Prayers of Intercession:

(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)

Lord God, friend of those in need, your Son Jesus has untied our burdens and healed our spirits. We lift up the prayers of our hearts for those still burdened, those seeking healing, those in need within the church and the world.

A brief silence.

We pray for the mission of the church; that it might be faithful to your Word and your Will for the sake of the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for all of creation; that it might be restored to the glory to which you first created it. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the nations, (especially,…); that violence may give way to peace and greed give way to justice. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for all who cling too closely to the law; that they might come to know the love, joy, and freedom of salvation through grace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for all who suffer in any way (especially,…); that they might have healing, comfort, and peace according to your gracious will. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Here other intercessions may be offered.

We pray for all who have gone before us on the journey of faith; that we might faithfully follow in that great procession, passing on to others what has been entrusted to us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Hear our prayers that we may love you with our whole being and willingly share the concerns of our neighbors. Amen.
