Prayers of Intercession:
(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)
God of mercy and healing, you who hear the cries of those in need, receive these petitions of your people that all who are troubled may know peace, comfort, and courage.
A brief silence.
We pray for the church and its leaders; that the Holy Spirit might make us bold in our proclamation of the good news. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
We pray for the earth and all its creatures; that where there is death and destruction, you might bring life and healing. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
We pray for the nations of the world; that violence and war may cease and justice and peace prevail. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
We pray for the weak in spirit; that you may armor them against despair, fear, and anxiety. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
We pray for all who suffer in any way (especially,…); that they may find strength in your presence. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
We pray for saints of every time and every place; that with prayer and supplication we may bear the cross to the world. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Life-giving God, heal our lives, that we may acknowledge your wonderful deeds and offer you thanks from generation to generation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
