Prayers of Intercession:

(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)

Friends in Christ, God invites us to hold the needs of our sisters and brothers as dear to us as our own needs. Loving our neighbors as ourselves, we offer our thanksgivings and our petitions on behalf of the church and the world.

A brief silence.

For the servants of the church, O Lord; that your Good News of life and grace be proclaimed to all the nations of the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For fields and farmers, O Lord; that the coming harvest be abundant and provide food for the world and livelihood for all involved in agriculture. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For the nations of the world, O Lord; that blessings, peace, and justice be shared and valued by all. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For those who feel a lack of purpose, O Lord; that they may know how greatly you value them and find direction and meaning. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For all in any sort of pain, O Lord; that healing and wholeness be worked in their lives. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For this congregation, O Lord; that we may hear your call and respond with faithfulness and proclamation. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Here other intercessions may be offered.

For all who have gone before us, O Lord; that their witness may strengthen our own. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Hear our prayers, God of power, and through the ministry of your Son free us from the grip of the tomb, that we may desire you as the fullness of life and proclaim your saving deeds to all the world. Amen.
