Prayers of Intercession:
(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)
God of mercy and healing, you who hear the cries of those in need, receive these petitions of your people that all who are troubled may know peace, comfort, and courage.
A brief silence.
For the church and all it’s leaders; that we may be ever faithful to your loving, gracious, and freeing Word. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans; that the waters of the earth be cleansed and made available to all. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For our leaders; that they may be faithful in their promises and wise in their actions. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For refugees and immigrants; that we may welcome and care for them as Ruth was welcomed and cared for. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For the sick and suffering; that their trust in your presence and healing bring them comfort and hope. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For this assembly gathered here; that we may be faithful to our baptismal promises and boldly proclaim the good news of Christ to all the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
For the faithful dead; that their dedication and example be a witness to us in our work for your kingdom. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Life-giving God, heal our lives, that we may acknowledge your wonderful deeds and offer you thanks from generation to generation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
