Prayers of Intercession:

(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)

God of mercy and healing, you who hear the cries of those in need, receive these petitions of your people that all who are troubled may know peace, comfort, and courage.

A brief silence.

Ground the church in your Word; your Word which proclaims love and grace to all people. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Renew creation through your Word; your Word which brought all things into being and sustains all life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Guide the nations with your Word; your Word which speaks out for justice and peace among all peoples and communities. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Bring your Word to bear upon all systems of power; your Word which releases the prisoner, welcomes the stranger, and gives hope to the oppressed. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Sustain with your Word all who suffer; your Word of healing, hope and life even in the midst of brokenness and pain. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Reorient this community toward your Word; your Word that teaches welcome and love for our neighbors. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Here other intercessions may be offered.

Sanctify all believers in your Word; your Word which carries the promise of life eternal and life abundant. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Life-giving God, heal our lives, that we may acknowledge your wonderful deeds and offer you thanks from generation to generation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
