Prayers of Intercession:

(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)

Let us pray for the needs of the church and the world to God who raised Jesus to new life.

A brief silence.

Heal the brokenness of the church, O Lord; overcome divisions and schisms that your church may boldly proclaim unity and community in you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heal the brokenness of creation, O Lord; where there is damage, bring healing, where there is death, bring life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heal the brokenness of the nations, O Lord; bring justice where there is injustice, and bring peace where there is strife. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heal the brokenness of our communities, O Lord; bind us together in deep and authentic communities of care and grace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heal the brokenness of our lives, O Lord; ease pain and bring healing wherever it is needed. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Heal the brokenness of our congregation, O Lord; turn us ever outward towards the people around us that we may be a community of welcome, hospitality, and inclusion. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Here other intercessions may be offered.

Heal the brokenness of death, O Lord; and make us certain that because Christ lives we too shall live. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Through the resurrection of your son, O God, you destroy the power of death and remove your people’s shame. By the power of the Spirit, raise us from sin and seat us at the paschal feast, that we may rejoice in the gift of salvation Jesus has won for us. Amen.
