Creator God, you call us to love and serve you with body, mind, and spirit through loving your creation and our sisters and brothers. Open our hearts in compassion and receive these petitions on behalf of the needs of the church and the world.
A brief silence.
Give the church courage, O God, and keep us firm in our proclamation of your great love and mercy for the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Restore creation, O God, and work through us to conserve the great gifts you have given us in nature. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Wrap your arms around all victims of violence, O God, and work through leaders to bring about peace and prosperity for all people. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Heal the sick and bind up the brokenhearted, O God, and grant wisdom and insight to all who work to find cures and treatments. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Bind us together with bonds of love and forgiveness, O God, and strengthen our community of faith that we may better serve our neighbors. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
Gather us with all the saints who have gone before us, O God, and keep the memory and example of the saints in our hearts and minds. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Holy One, hear our prayers and make us faithful stewards of the fragile bounty of this earth so that we may be entrusted with the riches of heaven. Amen.
