Prayers of Intercession:
(Introduction and Conclusion from Revised Common Lectionary Prayers, copyright © 2002)
God of revelation, as we gather in praise for the gracious mystery of your Son, we remember the many needs of your church and your world.
A brief silence.
For the church and its leaders, (especially,…); that they lead with wisdom and vision, proclaiming your freeing Gospel to the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For farmers and all who work the land; that this season of resting fields provide some renewal for all who sow and reap. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For all the nations of the world; that your abundant blessings be poured out on all people and lands. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For those who struggle with mental illness; that they may seek out help and be surrounded with love and encouragement. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For those who struggle with physical illness; that they may know healing and wholeness. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For this congregation; that we seek out new ways to reach out in love and service towards our neighbors. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
For all the saints who have gone before us; that the example of their sacrifices enliven and deepen our own faith and inspire acts of mercy. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Guide us on the path of salvation, O God, that the radiance and power of your Holy Spirit working in the world will gather together all peoples and nations in one community to offer you worship and proclaim your splendor. Amen.
